Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I start an order? A: Contact the Studio at 805.929.8035 or E-mail at wineblast@aol.com. It may take a couple of days for response as the Studio is constantly working on orders.
Q: Do you take private Clients? A: Yes, however I primarily do custom work for Wineries and Events. The best thing for a private client to do is contact a favorite Winery and give them my contact information.
Q:Do you have any bottles available for purchase? A: No. Since all work is custom, I do them as ordered.
Q: How long does it take to receive my bottle? A: After the bottle and art have arrived in-house, I ask for 4 weeks to deliver. There are however, times through the year when I am extreamly busy, and I can let you know at the initiation of your order if your time frame can be met.
Q: What art can I use? A: I am able to do any noncopyrighted art. If however the event is allowed to use art, with the permission of the artist, I require a written statement to that effect.
Q: If I couldn't buy a piece I saw at an Auction, can you make another? A: No, I never redo art that I've been comissioned to do. You may however make arrangements with the Event and ask their permission. I will only reproduce an item if the buyer pays the fundraiser the same amout as it went for at auction. This keeps the art value where it should be and enables the original buyer the confidence that their bottle retains it's value.
Q: How is the art created? A: Each piece is completely hand done. The art is recreated to best represent the pertinant art, and each piece is unique. After the art is made into a template, it is applied with special adhesives and masked. The bottle is then sandblasted to an appropriate depth. When complete, the magic begins! Several coats of paint is applied by hand. Candice uses many different techniques to paint, and never uses a formula. This way the art can ne reproduced as close to original as possible.
Q: Do you do portraits? A: Yes, I have in the past produced many portraits. These have become increasingly difficult because of the poor quality of photos that have been sent. I will only do portraits with approved photos.
Q: How should I send the art? A: I can view art E-mailed for discussion on pricing and difficulty, but prefer original art mailed in hard copy form. The better the original art, the less the art time expense
Q: Does the Artist supply the wine? A: No, I am not licensed to sell wine. The first step for my clients is to procure a bottle, empty or full, and the art to be used then contact the Studio for shipping. This enables a client to pick their favorite vintage.
Q: Will my wine be safe through the procedure? A: All bottles are kept is cold storage, and there is never any heat used. It is always possible to work on empty bottles and then have them filled by the winery after delivery. This is particularly helpful for States that have difficult transportation issues.
Q: What size bottles can be used? A: The preference is any size large format starting at a 1.5 Liter Magnum. Other typical sizes are 3 Liter, 5 or 6 Liter, 9 Liter (1 full case of wine), 12 Liter, 15 Liter, 18 Liter (2 cases of wine) and 27 Liter (3 cases of wine). It is probably best to contact a winery for assistance with finding a bottle. I try to not use the Biblical names for each size bottle as different styles of bottles hold different quantities of wine.
Q: What is the cost? A: Since each bottle is created differently, a quote is not simply done by format. The art is primarily what the pricing is based on. A seperate art charge of $75.00 per hour for typesetting and art developement is always added. Q: How do I start an order? A: Contact the Studio at 805.929.8035 or E-mail at wineblast@aol.com.
